What’s In A Name?
Trinnah is the name I’ve used online.
Maggie is the name my co-workers gave me. Margaret Trina is the name on my birth certificate. Baba is the family nickname that’s been stuck for years. Mar(2x) is the name my close friends call me. It’s entirely up to you, the reader, which one you’d like to address me as. I’ll still respond.
Who Are You?
I, Trinnah, am an RGV, Texas-based personal style blogger who believes that it’s not the price of the clothes that makes it look good, it’s the person wearing it. A mantra that my husband and I jokingly state while diving head first into the sales section of a store. A BSN (Bachelor’s Of Science In Nursing) graduate of The University of Texas Pan-American, my love for fashion could not be farther from the constricting world of daily scrub wear, no nail polish, hair up in a bun, minimal make-up, & those crocs.
I’ve been happily married for 4 years to my best friend, Gian, who uprooted himself from big city Chicago to far-from-being-a-metropolitan-area Mission, Texas to settle down with me. He’s a best friend who was willing to get me a dog even though he’s had a fear of them since childhood.
With that, Kobe the Pekingese came home with us last year and has been part of the family since. I am a brand new mother to Mia Gimathea, our first born, who came into this world on May 27th, 2012.
I am an avid shoe lover & collector. My motto: “I love shoes because no matter how much weight I gain or lose, they still fit me!” I don’t discriminate. I’ll buy designer or PVC, as long as it’s comfortable and the price is right, chances are, it’s going home with me.
I don’t claim to be a fashion expert, nor am I a professional stylist. I dress in what I feel comfortable in, and if it inspires someone out there, then that’s even better. I’m not going to tell you how to style a certain piece, but I will show you how I style it, in accordance to my body, mood, and like. I hope this website will help you in one way or another because I know that it will definitely help me.
Why Do You Have A Site?
I’ve had a website for as long as I can remember. I think it was a little over 5 years ago when I first started paying for a domain and having full control of my space & name. Masungit.net was my longest running domain name. Unfortunately, my webhost went bankrupt and fell off of the face of the earth without informing any of their customers. (Background Story Here) I decided to start fresh and revamp my site to something more personal — my name and started using Trinnah.net.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Trinnah.net only lasted 10 months due to server issues again. In a period of one month, my website as always down, and when I asked for technical support, the company was subpar with their services. They often closed my ticket and put “issue resolved” even though my website was still down. I didn’t finish my year and moved to a new host with a new domain name.
Giving Credit Where It’s Due:
Astyleinprogress.com was purchased July 7, 2012 through Hostgator.
Thank you to WordPress for providing such an easy way to update my site and a big thank you to all the people on the web who spend their time giving. I really appreciate all the templates that you’ve provided for all the lazy ones out there like me. I don’t have time to reconfigure HTML, CSS, and coding like I used to before, so I have to resort to using designs already made available.
